Connect Kintsu to ChatGPT
Add Kintsu as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT and use it in your chats on the web.
In ChatGPT, you add Kintsu as a custom MCP server. ChatGPT turns it into a plugin, which you then use in your chats. ChatGPT changed these screens several times in 2026: if you see different buttons, check the official guide at the bottom.
Before you start
Who in Kintsu: any role. ChatGPT only does what your role allows.
Kintsu plan: any plan.
ChatGPT: Business, Enterprise or Edu, on the web. With Business, only an admin or owner of your workspace can add a custom MCP server. With Enterprise and Edu, an admin can give others that permission. With Pro, you can only use a custom MCP server for reading.
Not in the app: this only works on chatgpt.com.
Add Kintsu
In ChatGPT, go to Plugins.
Click the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server.
Enter Kintsu as the name. A description is optional, for example “Our company website”.
Under Connection, in the Server URL field, enter https://mcp.kintsu.be.
For authentication, choose OAuth.
Read the warning and tick I understand and want to continue.
Click Create as a plugin. ChatGPT shows the Kintsu tools.
Install the plugin: open Kintsu among your plugins and click the plus button.
If ChatGPT sends you to Kintsu to sign in, when you create the plugin or the first time you use it, sign in with your Kintsu account. You'll see Give an assistant access. Click Allow.
Use Kintsu in a chat
Type @ in the message box and choose Kintsu.
Ask: “Which sites do I have in Kintsu?”
Did it work? ChatGPT shows your organizations and your sites.
Good to know: ChatGPT asks you to confirm every action that changes something. Read what it wants to do before you agree. Before publishing, the assistant also always shows what goes live and waits for you to say yes.
Disconnect
In ChatGPT: go to Settings › Plugins, choose Kintsu, open the menu with the three dots and choose Disconnect. You can also remove the plugin.
In Kintsu: go to Account › Connected apps and click Take access back next to ChatGPT. Its next request is refused.
Not working?
You don't see Add custom MCP server: your ChatGPT plan doesn't allow it, or your admin hasn't given you permission.
ChatGPT can read but not change anything: with Pro, you can only use a custom MCP server for reading.
ChatGPT doesn't use Kintsu: choose Kintsu with @ in the message box.
Something else: see Troubleshooting the MCP.
With your AI assistant
Once connected, ask: “Who am I in Kintsu, and which sites do I have?” You'll find more ideas in Example requests for your assistant.
